Accelerated Development Program (ADP)

Introduction

The Accelerated Development Program (ADP) is a structured process of assessing, training and developing high performing and high potential managers towards acquiring higher level competencies required for current and future executive positions.

It is designed to ensure that there is a pool of ready and motivated Leaders to meet future business needs.

The ADP will include movement of some ADP members to new positions and/or special assignments designed to stretch and develop their leadership capabilities.

General Criteria For Selection of ADP Participants

  • Currently a manager or supervisor
  • Demonstrated track record of high performance
  • Potential to move up to next level or higher
  • Ability and willingness to learn and develop oneself, based on feedback and coaching
  • High Leadership potential based on attitude and observable leadership behaviours (competencies)
  • Ability and willingness to share strengths and development needs with ADP colleagues
  • Willingness and desire to invest significant time and effort in further developing oneself
  • Ability and willingness to support the development of others in the organisation
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English (English skills of an acceptable level to function at this and higher levels)
  • Must have a Sponsor who agrees to actively support his or her development

ADP Development Focus Year 1

  • Participate in common development programs which focus on leadership skills across ADP as well as specific programs for each group/individual to strengthen integration with job responsibilities
  • Participate in group work activities that are built on real, business-related cases designed to support the achievement of business objectives
  • Challenge ADP members with an opportunity to articulate key aspects of their leadership success as guest speakers in leadership development forums such as a Management Development Program targeted to other Managers and/or Supervisors in the Organisation
  • Provide opportunities for individuals to obtain in-country and in some special cases, overseas assignments
  • Provide opportunities for ADP members to receive one-on-one coaching and guidance designed to accelerate personal and professional development
  • Gain critical insights into the business leadership success of in-country and above country senior Company Executives and selected external guests
  • Accelerate the development of superior feedback and coaching skills
